Kirsty is an experienced and passionate Occupational Therapist who has worked in many different settings for over 15 years. She has extensive experience with assessment and prescription of complex assistive technology, including power wheelchairs, with a strong focus on manual handling and optimal seating and positioning for every person. This has provided Kirsty with a very vast and varied experience working with people with disability, where Kirsty's true passion lies.
Kirsty's strong desire to support people who have a disability to reach their goals and for helping people stay as safe as possible within their everyday environments such as in the home, community and workplace lead to the development of the day program. Kirsty oversees the day program to ensure that it maintains a strong sensory focus, drawing on her years of experience of witnessing first hand the benefits of tailored multi-sensory opportunities on an individual's ability to stay calm, relaxed and happy.
Kirsty also has a strong interest in presenting education sessions to the support workers of the day program as well as to community groups to improve attendee’s skills in manual handling, sensory modulation and disability advocacy.
In Kirsty’s spare time, she loves spending time with her young family on her family farm, baking and doing anything crafty.
